哺乳動(dòng)物生物學(xué)(前身為Zeitschrift fur Saugetierkunde)是德國Gesellschaft fur Saugetierkunde(德國哺乳動(dòng)物生物學(xué)學(xué)會(huì))編輯的國際科學(xué)期刊。該雜志致力于發(fā)表有關(guān)哺乳動(dòng)物的研究。涵蓋了哺乳動(dòng)物生物學(xué)的各個(gè)方面，如解剖學(xué)、形態(tài)學(xué)、古生物學(xué)、分類學(xué)、系統(tǒng)學(xué)、分子生物學(xué)、生理學(xué)、神經(jīng)生物學(xué)、行為學(xué)、遺傳學(xué)、生殖發(fā)育、進(jìn)化生物學(xué)、馴養(yǎng)學(xué)、生態(tài)學(xué)、野生動(dòng)物生物學(xué)與疾病學(xué)、保護(hù)生物學(xué)、動(dòng)物園哺乳動(dòng)物生物學(xué)等。為了有資格發(fā)表，手稿必須通過提供新的和原始的研究數(shù)據(jù)(完整的文章或簡短的交流格式)，或?qū)Σ溉閯?dòng)物研究的特定主題進(jìn)行徹底的回顧，來促進(jìn)對哺乳動(dòng)物生物學(xué)的理解。僅以哺乳動(dòng)物為模型或強(qiáng)調(diào)實(shí)驗(yàn)或獸醫(yī)方面的研究，只有在它們與哺乳動(dòng)物學(xué)家有重大關(guān)聯(lián)時(shí)才有意義。與那些主要呈現(xiàn)描述性結(jié)果的研究相比，測試明確制定的假設(shè)的研究更受歡迎。由于其廣泛的主題，哺乳動(dòng)物生物學(xué)主要是感興趣的科學(xué)家在列出的各種領(lǐng)域的哺乳動(dòng)物，但也對生物學(xué)家和動(dòng)物學(xué)家的一般，以及獸醫(yī)和醫(yī)學(xué)科學(xué)家。

Mammalian Biology (formerly Zeitschrift für S?ugetierkunde) is an international scientific journal edited by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für S?ugetierkunde (German Society for Mammalian Biology). The journal is devoted to the publication of research on mammals. Its scope covers all aspects of mammalian biology, such as anatomy, morphology, palaeontology, taxonomy, systematics, molecular biology, physiology, neurobiology, ethology, genetics, reproduction, development, evolutionary biology, domestication, ecology, wildlife biology and diseases, conservation biology, and the biology of zoo mammals.To qualify for publication, a manuscript must contribute to the understanding of mammalian biology by presenting either new and original research data (as a full article or in short communication format) or a thorough review of a particular topic of mammalogical research. Investigations using mammals merely as models or emphasizing experimental or veterinary aspects are of interest only if they are of substantial relevance to mammalogists. Studies testing explicitly formulated hypotheses are preferred to those presenting primarily descriptive results.Due to its wide range of topics, Mammalian Biology is primarily of interest to scientists working in the listed various fields of mammalogy but also to biologists and zoologists in general as well as to veterinarians and medical scientists.
