An essential criterion for acceptance of research articles in the journal is that they provide new physical insight. Please refer to the New Physical Insights virtual issue on what constitutes new physical insight. Manuscripts that are essentially reporting data or applications of data are, in general, not suitable for publication in JPC A.Isolated Molecules, Clusters, Radicals, and Ions; Environmental Chemistry, Geochemistry, and Astrochemistry; New Tools and MethodsA1Kinetics, Dynamics, Photochemistry, and Excited StatesA2Spectroscopy, Molecular Structure, and Quantum ChemistryA3 Environmental, Combustion, and Atmospheric Chemistry; Aerosol Processes, Geochemistry, and AstrochemistryA4 New Tools and Methods in Experiment and TheoryGuidelines for Theory/Computational PapersTo be appropriate for publication in JPC A, theory/computational papers must satisfy at least one of the following criteria:provide significant new physical insight into an experimentally relevant system or processpresent a new theoretical or computational methodology of general interestGuidelines for Nanomaterial PapersTo be appropriate for publication in JPC A, nanomaterial papers should demonstrate an improved understanding of a physical process. Papers that emphasize nanomaterial synthesis and characterization are not appropriate for the Journal.
