在范圍上，該雜志涵蓋了對(duì)沉積物和沉積巖的所有方面的研究，以及所有的空間和時(shí)間尺度。因此，它的目的是為出版從分析技術(shù)到沉積系統(tǒng)和盆地分析的區(qū)域或地球動(dòng)力學(xué)方面的整個(gè)學(xué)科的高質(zhì)量研究論文提供一個(gè)論壇;沉積序列的地下分析、成巖作用、化學(xué)沉積學(xué)和數(shù)值模擬。主題是“沉積”，但范圍很廣。

　　英文簡介

In scope, the journal encompasses all aspects of research into sediments and sedimentary rocks, and at all spatial and temporal scales. It thus aims to provide a forum for the publication of high quality research papers across the entire subject, from analytical techniques to regional or geodynamical aspects of sedimentary systems and basin analysis; subsurface analysis of sedimentary sequences, diagenesis, chemical sedimentology and numerical modelling. The theme is "sedimentary" but the scope is broad.
