1993年，《非洲昆蟲學》取代了《南部非洲昆蟲學會舊期刊》。每年出版一卷，包括兩期(3月和9月)。該期刊在所有主要的文摘期刊上都有索引。《非洲昆蟲學》是一份經過同行評議的科學期刊，出版關于昆蟲學各方面的原創研究文章和簡短的交流，重點是促進非洲大陸昆蟲學的發展。

African Entomology replaced the old Journal of the Entomological Society of Southern Africa in 1993. A single volume consisting of two issues (March and September) is published annually. The journal is indexed in all major abstracting journals.African Entomology is a peer reviewed scientific journal that publishes original research articles and short communications on all aspects of entomology, with the emphasis on the advancement of entomology on the African continent.
